Character: Lucina
Series: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Age:~17 (Lucina is from approximately 15 years in the future, however, she has been in the past for two years since her arrival). 18 (canon update) 19
History: Yours will be a happy future.
Canon Point: Post Chapter 22, after confronting Robin (the Avatar).
Personality: The first word that comes to mind in describing Lucina is resolute. Once she has a goal, or a destination, she will try everything she can to reach it, or to attain it. Despite the darkness that has plagued her life, Lucina still believes, and she still hopes. She has faith that she can change things around in the past, and make the world right again, the way it should be - but this goal is a lot harder than she fears. She places a lot of the responsibility on herself - she's mature, and had to grow up quick, due to the loss of her parents whilst she was small - and the fact she is so self-reliant can be as much a bad thing as a good one. When she is first introduced, she acts cool and collected, focused on her goal. When events don't happen as she plans, such as with saving Emmeryn from death, Lucina is quick to despair: she pinned so much hope and belief on that singular event that when it still happens she is sharply reminded she has accomplished nothing. And nothing is something she cannot stand; it troubles her when she cannot fix things.
She does have a hardened soul. She has seen a lot of death, and a lot of pain in her life - though, as mentioned, she does have hope in a better future, she wears a mask to hide much of her pain. It is rare that the determined and resourceful mask breaks, and equally as much it is rare that she will allow herself to have that weakness. The events of history remaining on the path they took that leads to her time is one of the few things that consistently gets under her skin. The more time passes, the more desperate and fixated she gets, and the more extreme measures she will resort to.
Though young, she is very mature. Her world is a battle scarred and fearful one, so it is only much more recently that she has had the chance to relax, as it were - or more accurately, see a world that is not in constant turmoil (which is ironic, given the fact she joins an army campaign, but the fact of the matter is she is at a point in time where there is still hope). Lucina isn't completely serious all of the time, as might be expected of her. Trivialities such as shopping bemuse her, since it's something she's not had the chance to do for many years. She cannot argue with it, though; that is the world she wants, where that is the biggest worry in a person's life. She is quite fond of the little things in life, now she has had the chance to try them for herself.
Lucina is firm and strong to her convictions and her loyalties will never waiver. In terms of family, Lucina is particularly protective - having lost them once, she has no desire to lose them again. She has protected them with her own safety at risk, many times, and would have no qualms about doing so again. Her maturity extends into her selflessness - though she travels back in time to save the world, her parents, and so many more, Lucina does not expect them to accept her. Quite the opposite, in fact; whilst deep down she would like them to, she is very much prepared that and expectant that they will not, knowing she is not their daughter, not truly. Their daughter is in a castle back in Ylisse. She may love them dearly but has no delusions that that love will be reciprocated: but she is proved wrong, and if anything, that only strengthens her resolve, which defines her so much.
Skills and Abilities:
Fighting ability: Despite being born into royalty, and as a woman and princess, Lucina was raised a swordsman - though this was perhaps unsurprising, given the multiple wars across the continent and the fact her father, Chrom, was in charge of The Shepherds, an elite militia force which took care of its people.
Lucina comes from a future where the world was bleak, dominated by Risen, and the fell dragon, Grima. As such, fighting was a means of staying alive. Lucina had to become strong or she would die, like so many before her - like her parents, like her friend's parents. This makes her rather lethal, to an extent - she has been through fights to the death and come out as the victor. You best take her seriously whilst she's fighting. Her will is steel.
Even when not in fights to the death, she is always convicted, focused, and skilful; she has bested many other swordsmen in combat, including Feroxi's famed Lon'qu. The only person she hasn't defeated is her father, Chrom... though whether she threw her latter fights against him is another matter entirely.
Aether: Aether is a skill Lucina automatically gains, inherited from Chrom. In turn, it is only used on occasion (in game, it has a low activation rate, perhaps about 25%). It allows her to use Sol and Luna in succession. Sol restores health equal to the damage dealt, and Luna allows her to attack through bypassing the opponent's defences for colossal damage.
Falchion: Falchion is a sword, one of the royal treasures of Ylisse. Falchion was originally used by Anri, then later, Marth: though that was many centuries past. The blade of the sword is immune to the ravages of time and will never rust or dull, though the hilt does have to be remade on occasion. Falchion is a sword that chooses it's wielder - it will only allow those of the bloodline to wield it, and even then it has to deem if the individual is worthy or not. Lucina took up Falchion after Chrom's death, and was accepted as its wielder.
Brand of the exalt (left eye): Members of the royal family of Ylisse (through blood) have a brand of the exalt appear on them. Lucina's is in her left eye, within her pupil. It's not immediately noticeable from a distance, but in close quarters it would be easy to see.
First Person Sample:
Aunt,
There is perhaps little use in writing this. I know it will not reach you, for I am now beyond our time... and if all goes well, then the future in which we both lived will not come to be. Hope will return.
... it's quite redundant, isn't it? But... I suppose it is a comfort. I have been separated from the others, when we came back... all that was to be found were Risen. And father, and you. I don't know if Owain and the others are already here, or if they have yet to arrive. I am sure they are fine, however. Especially Owain. Please do not worry of him too much.
Regardless, I must prevent the assassination, and Chrom's injury. They will happen soon. I cannot lose focus. It is hard, knowing, but not being able to speak of it... but I know no one would believe me if I were to utter a word otherwise. I must stay this course, and if necessary I must do it alone.

Third Person Sample:
It was a sincere request, a logical one. One that she had thought would be unproblematic, as they were at war; training would occur. He had to train with someone, which is why she had offered. That was what she told herself, anyway; Lucina knew that deep down she had offered because she had wanted to spend time with her father.
She didn't give him much time to reply. Seconds or less, before she spoke again. "I'm sorry, fa- Chrom. There are others you can spar with... those who belong in this time-"
"Lucina, stop."
The interruption made her wince. She'd taken a step too far. What had happened to her resolve of staying on the sidelines, and disappearing when what she had done was necessary? Of course, she had an answer to that. Much changed when plans went awry. She had never dreamed she would fight in this war in Valme, against Wallhart...
She looked up at him, her father. Chrom. Not quite the man she remembered, not yet, but he was there.
"I've already told you, haven't I? You're as much my daughter as the Lucina back at the castle. Your mother and I have both accepted it... and you."
"I'm sorry-" she started, automatically, before she stopped. She didn't need to apologise, did she? No. Acceptance. She had gained it, even when she thought that wouldn't be on the cards. There was something else, a different answer, that he was perhaps seeking from her. "I understand... father."
Chrom nodded, then paused. Lucina was about to ask, before he continued, "We shouldn't train today. We should do something else."
Lucina was surprised, and blinked. Fighting was a necessity... one way she felt close to him. Perhaps the only way they would be close. So this was... he was making sure she knew his words were true. "Truly?"
"Of course. What would you like to do?"
